eaglefire5810 asked: My wife and I are looking to get back into camping and are looking for an established camping site in Colorado (private / BLM / USNF) that is near a stream or river. Would prefer nothing further south than Colorado Springs and definitely west of I-25. Recommendations please!?!?

There’s the Yampa river area South of Steamboat Springs that’s pretty neat. What you should do is get a good rec. map of CO and study all the river areas that run through the state.
Taylor Park Reservoir:
Taylor Park offers a variety of places to go camping. Within a 30 mile radius there are 13 National Forest Campgrounds and two privately owned RV parks.
Taylor Park is the perfect spot for Mackinaw (Lake Trout), Northern Pike, and Trout. Whether you enjoy fly fishing, boat fishing, or shore fishing, you are sure to like Taylor Park.
Within a 30 mile radius there are numerous small lakes and streams, as well as Taylor Reservoir, which now holds the record for the 2nd largest Lake Trout ever caught in the State of Colorado.
On the other side of Guanella Pass (from Georgetown) there is a stream and lakes and some camping spots all the way down to the road. There are also Burning Bear Campground and Geneva Lake campground.
