Do not soak them in water…. that will ruin them….. the only way to break them in is to wear them and walk around in them…. thats about it.

Lol the person that told you the water option was talking about Jungle boots lol. i have a pair, and I soaked them in water and wore them for a while but not more than a few hours at a time. a whole week would be murder on your feet. thats just asking for a fungus infection like “trench foot”. and FYI Hiking boots should not get ruined because of soem water on them. they are hiking boots, ment to go everywhere you wouldnt go with your Air Jordans lol. I do agree that if they are infact just hiking boots the only thing you do is waer them till they feel like a part of you.
P.S. I am aware that I mispelled hiking like a Gazzilion times. lol

Yes, you must wear them to “break” them in. Certainly do not submerge in water. You might want to consider using a good leather waterproofing compound on them first.
Can buy it in most sporting goods and shoe stores. Very inexpensive but a good investment.
