You can go to a place like EMS or Blue mountain (any specialty store) and get a really expensive pair of boots that will last a long time, and would end up costing less in the long run. However, just like the earlier poster said, Sports Authority, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Eastbay, or the like would suffice. To be honest, I’d say go into a Target/Walmart/Kmart and try on a few pairs. They’ll be cheap and I promise at least one pair will feel relatively comfortable on your feet if you walk around the shoe department for a while. The important thing to do, no matter what, is to spend some good money on some serious wool hiking socks, and get a few pairs to change as often as need-be on hikes. Secondly, if the pair of boots you buy isn’t waterproof, buy some spray waterproofer. Also, buy some mole-skin (blister patches) just to put on the minute your feet begin to chafe, if at all.
